Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan is in Sardarapat to participate in the festive events of the First Republic of Armenia.
"I have been participating in the parade for probably the 7th year. The heroic battles of Bash-Aparan and Gharakilisa are one of the most important pages of our history. They are one of the most important manifestations of our nation and will. I think the First Republic of Armenia holiday is one of our state's most important holidays. This holiday symbolizes the will that the Armenian people had at the beginning of the 20th century. After a challenging period, after being in a tough situation, the Armenian people were able to create certain heroic battles with one fist, which later led to the establishment of the First Republic."
Avinyan noted the critical meaning of the holiday of the First Republic.
"No period, no difficulty should depress us because history shows us that the Armenian people have the will to find solutions even in difficult situations. "Today, our most important problem is ensuring the security and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia, and this problem must be resolved through diplomacy," the mayor said.
