According to the Iranian SNN TV channel, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian made several vital statements at Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport before departing for Armenia and Belarus.

“This trip is in line with our priority trips to neighboring countries. Naturally, based on the general policy and the opinion of the Supreme Leader, our neighbors are a priority for establishing and developing relations,” he said.

The Iranian President emphasized that the country has long-standing and strategic relations with neighboring and friendly Armenia. “We have always tried to maintain good relations with each other in social, political, economic, and cultural matters. The necessary conditions have been established to establish as many communications as possible between Iran and Armenia. Therefore, during this visit, we will discuss our agreements and relations, including communication and cultural channels, which can be a solution to strengthen, in particular, the North-South corridor,” the Iranian President stated.

He also spoke about the East-West communication route and considered it a suitable platform for ensuring East-West trade and developing relations. “We are striving to expand it,” Pezeshkian said.

Speaking about concerns about the presence of American companies in Armenia after the signing of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Pezeshkian said: “Naturally, there is concern about the presence of American companies in the region, which come under the name of a company and then look for something else. So far, experience has shown that they enter this route, and we will have discussions with Armenian officials about these concerns.”

According to the Iranian President, excellent documents are planned to be signed in Yerevan today in the fields of construction, mining, art, social, and tourism.
