The Times of Israel reported that on the evening of August 17, about 500 thousand people took to the streets of Tel Aviv to demand that the authorities sign an agreement with Hamas to release the hostages.
It is noted that the action was organized by the families of the hostages, who are still being held in Gaza. People from all over the country took part in the protest.
The main rally took place in Hostage Square. Earlier, it was reported that there were 150 thousand people there, and later they were joined by another 70-100 thousand people, who, together with the families of the hostages, marched from the Savidor railway station.
The rally took place on Sunday, when a nationwide strike was declared in Israel against the government's decision to expand the war in Gaza.
Recall that earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented a plan consisting of five main principles, which should lead to an end to the war in the Gaza Strip and guarantee the country's security.
