The United States has imposed sanctions on more than 50 Iranian individuals and companies, as well as more than 50 ships involved in the oil trade. This was reported on July 30 in the US Treasury Department.
According to the head of the department, Scott Bessent, this is the most significant number of new restrictions against Iran since 2018. The sanctions are aimed at the elite of the Tehran regime, the American official added.
The US State Department, in turn, announced restrictive measures against 20 companies that sell Iranian oil and petroleum products. In particular, this concerns the Chinese operator of one of the ports, as well as corporations from India, the UAE, and Turkey. In addition, sanctions have been imposed on 10 courts, the DPA agency reported.
