Moscow considers the ban on the entry of Russian citizens to Armenia an unfriendly step

The ban on Russian citizens entering Armenia contradicts the traditionally close nature of relations between Yerevan and Moscow, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

"We consider the ban on entry of Russian citizens to be an unfriendly step that contradicts the allied nature of Russian-Armenian cooperation. We have repeatedly called on our Armenian partners to stop this vicious practice," she said.

She noted that the foreign ministers had discussed this issue during Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's visit to Armenia in May.

"The Armenian side has been offered specific steps; we are waiting for a response," Zakharova emphasized.
