The EU is preparing to impose the toughest sanctions against Russia since 2022, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barron said.
He stressed that the latest package of measures is designed to drain Russia's resources. The measures will affect oil revenues, Russian financial players, and other countries.
The sanctions will be imposed at the suggestion of Paris - in this way, the EU wants to encourage Moscow to agree to a ceasefire.
