The United States and Belarus should normalize relations for the sake of mutually beneficial cooperation, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said. He wrote about this in his congratulatory message to President Donald Trump on the occasion of the US Independence Day.
During your first presidency, Minsk and Washington embarked on a path of normalizing relations. Unfortunately, at some point, Belarusian-American cooperation departed from this positive line. Such a situation does not align with the national interests of either our countries or our peoples. The time has come to change it,” Lukashenko noted.
He added that Belarus has consistently advocated for building constructive and respectful dialogue with the United States.
“I hope to restore the positive dynamics of interstate contacts and implement mutually beneficial projects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation,” the Belarusian President concluded.
