The Russian Foreign Ministry reported to TASS that Russia has officially recognized the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
“The Foreign Ministry confirms,” the diplomatic department said, commenting on the information about the recognition of the state.
Earlier, TASS reported that the Afghan flag presented by the Taliban was hung over the embassy in Moscow for the first time since the movement came to power in 2021.
On July 1, the new Afghan Ambassador to Russia, Gul Hassan, arrived in Moscow, and on July 3, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko received his credentials.
