Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev.
“I had a conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. I thanked him for the support he has shown to Ukraine, our people, and our territorial integrity. I also expressed Ukraine’s unequivocal support in the situation when Russia mocks Azerbaijani citizens and threatens the Republic of Azerbaijan.
I expressed my condolences to Azerbaijan over the murder of the Safarov brothers in Russia. I am confident that all the facts will be clarified. Justice is needed. We have a shared vision with Aliyev: the life and dignity of every person must be protected.
We also discussed our bilateral relations and cooperation in the energy and humanitarian spheres. We agreed to hold a meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. Our governments are intensifying their work,” the Ukrainian leader said on social networks.
