Bibi is a warrior. Trump on Netanyahu

US President Donald Trump has criticized the ongoing trial of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling it a "ridiculous political persecution" and calling for it to be immediately overturned or a pardon granted to a "great hero."

Trump said Netanyahu, with whom he had recently "lived through hell" in the fight against Israel's "cruel and intelligent" long-time enemy, Iran, had shown unprecedented courage and dedication.

"Bibi is a warrior, perhaps the greatest warrior in the history of Israel," Trump said, adding that thanks to Netanyahu, Israel had avoided "loss, disgrace and chaos."

Trump said this was the first time a sitting Israeli prime minister had been put on trial. "This kind of persecution of someone who has given so much is unacceptable," Trump said.

Trump also stressed that His cooperation with Netanyahu has been "unprecedentedly harmonious," claiming that "the United States saved Israel, and now the United States will save Bibi Netanyahu."
