The presidents of Azerbaijan and Iran had a telephone conversation.
Ilham Aliyev and Masoud Pezeshkian discussed the latest escalation in the Middle East and the prospects for cooperation between Baku and Tehran.
“During the conversation, the Azerbaijani president expressed concern over the escalation of the situation in the region in connection with the recent armed confrontation between Iran and Israel, reaffirming Azerbaijan’s unwavering position in favor of stability and peace,” the statement said.
Aliyev also congratulated his Iranian counterpart on achieving reconciliation, stressing the importance of promoting sustainable peace and tranquility in the region.
