Araghchi hopes that practical steps will be taken in the UN Security Council

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi answered reporters' questions after arriving in Moscow. He noted that the visit was planned. "After Istanbul, I arrived in Moscow to discuss the aggression of the Israeli regime and the problems threatening the region with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The attack by the United States expands the scope of our discussions," Araghchi said.

According to him, the US attack on Iran is an aggression that must be strongly condemned. "We highly appreciate the position of Russia, which strongly condemned this aggression last Sunday. We hope that practical steps will be taken in the UN Security Council and other international forums," he noted.

Araghchi stressed that the US attack violates the UN Charter, international law, and, most importantly, the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). "This attack calls into question the role of the NPT because international institutions are unable 'to protect the interests of countries engaged in peaceful nuclear energy," the minister added.
