The G7 countries are planning to announce new sanctions against Russia. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said: “We are working on a new package of sanctions, and I intend to work with all G7 partners to limit Russia’s energy revenues and the resources it can use to wage its illegal war.”
Starmer stressed the need to “seize this moment” to increase economic pressure on Russia and its President, Vladimir Putin. He added that Putin must understand that it is in his and Russia’s interests to show a genuine intention for peace.
