Israeli army spokeswoman Effie Defrin said that the destruction of Iran's Fordow nuclear facility requires direct US support, as the US can deliver a decisive blow.
According to her, there is discussion in the international media that Israel is not capable of destroying Iran's nuclear facilities on its own, in particular Fordow, which is located 80 meters deep in rocky terrain.
"The GBU-28 bombs at Israel's disposal can penetrate concrete structures up to 6 meters deep. However, in the case of Fordow, a more powerful weapon is required - the American 13-ton GBU-57 bomb, which is capable of penetrating concrete structures up to 61 meters deep. To transport this bomb, an American B-2 bomber is needed, which implies direct US participation. Without US support, Israel's stated goal will most likely be unattainable," she said.
Effi Dufferin said they need President Trump to approve the request for assistance in destroying the Fordow facility.
"We have already dealt a devastating blow to Iran, but the decisive blow is in America's hands."
