Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the developments in the region in a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Sayyid Abbas Araghchi.
Expressing condolences over the death of several Iranian military leaders, including General Shahid Bagheri, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan expressed the condolences of the government and people of Azerbaijan to the government and people of Iran, as well as to the families of the deceased.
The Head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry also emphasized: "The Republic of Azerbaijan will under no circumstances allow its airspace to be used to attack Iran or other countries."
Araghchi described the attack on Iran as a clear violation of national sovereignty and all international laws and norms and said: "These actions threaten world peace and security, and Iran will resolutely respond to this aggression by its legitimate defense."
The Iranian Foreign Minister also thanked Azerbaijan for its message of condolences and sympathy, assessed the attack on Iran's nuclear facilities as a violation of all red lines related to refraining from attacking peaceful nuclear facilities of countries, and called on all countries to condemn it.
