Reuters reports that Vietnam’s Ministry of Technology has ordered the Telegram app to be blocked for refusing to cooperate in the fight against alleged crimes committed by its users.
In particular, 68% of the country’s 9,600 Telegram channels and groups violate the law, including in cases of suspected fraud, drug trafficking, and terrorism.
Namakani is scheduled to be closed on June 2.
