More than 80 senators from both parties in the United States have expressed their readiness to support a bill aimed at strengthening the pressure of sanctions on Russia's allies if the Kremlin refuses to establish peace in Ukraine.
This was announced by the bill's authors, Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal and Republican Lindsey Graham.
The sanctions proposed by the senators are ready to support 81 out of 100 members of the Senate. It is suggested to impose restrictions if Russia "refuses to negotiate in good faith with Ukraine for a lasting peace or takes other efforts, including military intervention, that would undermine Ukraine's sovereignty after the conclusion of peace," the senators said in a statement.
In addition, the bill proposes to impose a 500% tariff on goods imported from countries that buy Russian oil, gas, uranium, and other goods.
