US President Donald Trump made several important statements at a briefing in the Oval Office, including remarks about the country's policy toward Russia.
Responding to the question of the build-up of Russian troops near the borders of Finland and Norway, Trump said:
"I'm not worried at all. These two countries will be completely safe."
The US President discussed tightening sanctions against Russia and emphasized that this would be his decision alone.
"We'll see how Russia behaves. We'll see what happens... We're in a pretty important period now. Yesterday, I had a two-and-a-half-hour conversation with President Putin. I also spoke with almost all the European leaders, and I think we had an excellent conversation yesterday," Trump said.
