Indonesia could have a cat island. Cat Island is intended to be a refuge for stray cats in various Jakarta areas.
The project will be a long-term solution to managing the city’s stray cat population, which currently numbers more than 20,000 cats.
A team of professional veterinarians will care for the animals on the island. Japanese authorities have previously implemented a similar tourism project in Ehime Prefecture.
