In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, US Vice President J.D. Vance discussed the peace talks between Russia and Ukraine and the American goals set during Trump’s first 100 days in office and beyond.
“The first and necessary step to achieving peace is for the parties to present their proposals. And that has already happened. The Ukrainians expressed what they wanted, and the Russians presented their position. Now, the task of diplomatic work is to try to bring those positions closer together because there is a significant difference between the demands of the parties,” he said.
Vance noted that a number of European partners, although they do not publicly support President Trump, state that he is the only one who has been able to force the parties to present proposals.
“They were not even negotiating, neither with each other nor with any other party. They were simply at war. Now we have the first step, and in the next 100 days, we will work hard to bring the parties closer together,” he emphasized.
