"Immediately after Lavrov's visit, the Iranian Ambassador to Armenia once again announced that there will be no "Zangezur Corridor." Was this a coincidence or another signal that Lavrov had touched on this issue behind the scenes?
Lavrov's visit was not limited to regional communications. Moscow is undoubtedly concerned about the current state of Armenian-Russian relations and the "odious" perception of pro-Russian forces among broad segments of society.
The Russian side is trying to understand the current government's medium-term political plans, especially in terms of relations with Russian integration structures.
It isn't easy to consider the precise position of the Iranian Ambassador a random statement. "Iran has consistently emphasized its opposition to any "corridor" solution that could change the balance of power in the region or affect its strategic interests. Therefore, during Lavrov's visit, this issue was also discussed in bilateral or trilateral formats, and Iran, in turn, tried to reaffirm its position on public platforms."
