The Pentagon announced that OpenAI, the developer of the ChatGPT artificial intelligence, has signed a $200 million contract with the US Department of Defense to develop artificial intelligence tools of strategic importance for national security.
"This contract will implement a prototype for developing leading-edge AI capabilities aimed at solving both military and management challenges," the Pentagon said.
The project's main work will be in Washington and the surrounding areas. It is expected to be completed in July 2026.
