President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the French Embassy in Armenia on the occasion of the National Day of the French Republic, also known as Bastille Day.
The President congratulated the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia, Olivier Decottignies, and, in his person, President Emmanuel Macron and the friendly people of France, wishing them peace, success, and prosperity.
Stressing the importance of the privileged Armenian-French relations, the two sides, among other issues, specifically touched upon decentralized cooperation, within the framework of which the President of the Republic congratulated the Ambassador on the opening of the Honorary Consulate of France in Syunik.
Reference was made to the deepening of the Armenia-EU partnership, which includes all spheres of bilateral relations. At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening and expanding bilateral friendly ties.
