Prime Minister's Spokesperson on Rumors of Possible Pashinyan-Aliyev Meeting in Dubai

The press secretary of the Armenian Prime Minister, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, commented on a publication by Middle East Eye stating that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev plan to hold a meeting in Dubai in July.

In response to an inquiry by “Armenpress” on the topic, the press secretary of the Armenian Prime Minister, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, noted:

“Proper information about the Prime Minister’s visits is provided promptly.”

Middle East Eye, citing its sources, reports that the United Arab Emirates aims to host a meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan as part of its efforts to enhance relations between the two Caucasian nations.

In this context, the website recalled that on June 25, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, held telephone conversations with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.

Middle East Eye quoted the following excerpt from a statement released by the Armenian Foreign Ministry regarding the phone call:

“Minister Mirzoyan and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan exchanged views on efforts to ensure peace in the South Caucasus and the Middle East.”
