Deputy Minister of Justice Anna Karapetyan received a delegation led by Pawel Busiakiewicz, Head of the International Relations Unit of the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the steps being taken and planned work in the visa liberalization process with the European Union, including the details of the process of finalizing the Action Plan. Welcoming the members of the delegation, the Deputy Minister highlighted the progress in the visa liberalization process, as well as the role of the Ministry of Justice in it, referring to the meetings with the EU expert missions that visited the Republic of Armenia on February 11 and April 8, 2025.
In the context of the visa liberalization process, Pawel Busiakiewicz highlighted the key reform directions, particularly the improvement of anti-corruption mechanisms, the expansion of effective cooperation in the justice field, and policies aimed at protecting human rights.
Anna Karapetyan touched upon the implementation of the anti-corruption strategy, the process of developing a new strategic document on protection from discrimination and combating hate speech, and also presented the vision of the planned reforms and policy development in personal data protection.
At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness for close cooperation to ensure the continuity and effective implementation of the visa liberalization process.
