In his message today, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan referred to the document signed as a result of a trilateral meeting between him, US President Donald Trump, and Ilham Aliyev.
“Peace has been established between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. The role of US President Donald Trump and his administration in this matter is invaluable.”
According to the Prime Minister: “After August 8, we live in a completely different, completely new South Caucasus, we live in a completely different, completely new Republic of Armenia, and we must realize this fact.”
He noted that citizens of the Third Republic do not know what it means to live in peace, to work in peace. “It is an unfamiliar feeling to us, because from the first day of our independence, we have lived in an atmosphere of conflict, in a situation of war or no war, no peace. People have dreamed of peace, but on the other hand, those who use the word peace have often been judged and criticized,” he said, adding that “peace is an unfamiliar consciousness and an unfamiliar reality for us.”
According to him, peace requires daily care and concern, just as a newborn, a newly built house, and a new beloved car require daily care and concern.
