Tens of thousands of protesters gathered in Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities on Saturday night, calling for a ceasefire and the return of hostages before Israel begins its planned operation to capture Gaza City.
Israeli media reported this.
The protests, some of the largest in recent months, came days after the Israeli prime minister's cabinet decided to seize Gaza completely.
The protesters are demanding an agreement on the release of the hostages first.
