It is better for Lavrov not to interfere in the internal affairs of Armenia: Mirzoyan (VIDEO)

Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan referred to today's statements by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov that "attacks on the church are worrying."

"I briefly got acquainted with that comment of my dear colleague Sergey Lavrov. I want to point out that Mr. Lavrov's information is incorrect and incomplete. If I am not mistaken, Mr. Lavrov used the wording "the struggle of the authorities against the church." Mr. Lavrov's information does not correspond to reality. There is no struggle of the authorities against the church in Armenia. What Mr. Lavrov means probably refers to the desire of several church figures to interfere in the politics of Armenia, to participate in political processes, and, according to our law enforcement bodies, to participate in an illegal way, namely, to join in or initiate illegal coup attempts.

This is a legal process, and this is the internal affair of the Republic of Armenia."

Mirzoyan also noted, "Mr. Lavrov shouldn't interfere in the internal affairs and internal politics of the Republic of Armenia.

I want to take this opportunity to make the same appeal to Mr. Lavrov's Russian parliamentary colleagues and media partners.

Russian officials, parliamentarians, and media experts should treat the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia with great respect and never again allow themselves to interfere in our internal affairs."
