Within the framework of the official visit, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan discussed the issue at the China Institute of International Studies. Chen Bo, the Institute's president, delivered a welcoming speech and participated in the discussion. The discussion was attended by the Institute's Vice President, heads of research departments in different geographical areas, and experts.
Minister Mirzoyan presented the priorities of the RA foreign policy and the dynamic work being carried out to implement them. Touching upon Armenia-China bilateral relations, Minister Mirzoyan noted the readiness of the RA Government to raise cooperation with China to a new level with a broader agenda and the joint work being carried out in that direction.
The interlocutors emphasized that there are good prerequisites for this, including key issues such as respect for the principle of territorial integrity and commonality of approaches.
Ararat Mirzoyan touched upon the "Crossroads of Peace" project within the framework of another critical area, regional connectivity. "Armenia, being at an important crossroads, can play a significant role in programs to expand the transport and economic communications network."
The Minister added that Armenia's efforts to normalize and develop relations with its neighbors are also significant. Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, emphasizing the importance of interstate relations and signing a peace agreement between the two countries to establish peace in the region.
Various geopolitical developments were touched upon, and Minister Mirzoyan presented Armenia's approaches. The RA Foreign Minister made a note in the Institute's book of honored guests.
