May 28, the Day of the First Republic of Armenia, symbolizes the Armenian people's desire for freedom and sovereignty.
In the heroic battles of Sardarapat, Bash-Aparan, and Gharakilisa, the Armenian people defended their right to live and be independent with a united spirit.
Those decisive days of 1918 became the basis of a new statehood born of struggle, faith, and a purposeful vision.
Yerevan, the capital of the First Republic, still bears that historical heritage with dignity today, developing, stabilizing, and strengthening our independent statehood.
I congratulate all our citizens on this day of pride, dignity, and state thinking.
According to tradition, I celebrate this holiday in Aparan with the people of Aparan and guests of the city, paying tribute to our heroes and their work.
Glory to our heroes.
Glory to the Republic of Armenia.
