The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, who is in Kazakhstan on an official visit, met with the Chairman of the Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament, Yerlan Koshanov.
Expressing gratitude to Yerlan Koshanov for the invitation and warm welcome, Alen Simonyan emphasized that our country highly appreciates the partnership relations with Kazakhstan and is ready to make efforts to deepen them further. In this context, the Speaker of the National Assembly touched upon the deepening of cooperation between legislative bodies, proposing to consider the format of an inter-parliamentary commission for cooperation between the two parliaments.
Speaking about regional developments and the need to sign a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia thanked the Kazakh side for supporting the “Crossroads of Peace” project presented by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
Alen Simonyan also drew his colleague’s attention to the issue of prisoners of war and illegally held persons in Azerbaijan.
