The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, received the President of the House of Representatives of Uruguay, Ana Olivera, and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Pedro Federico Jisdonian.
Welcoming the guests, the President expressed his belief that Ana Olivera's visit would be an additional incentive for further activation of cooperation between the two states. The President noted that Armenia and Uruguay have always been connected by friendly ties, and relations between the two countries are developing dynamically in all fields. The President of the Republic thanked the Uruguayan leadership for the support they always provide to issues related to our country.

The meeting discussed issues related to developing friendly relations between Armenia and Uruguay. Both sides emphasized the importance of promoting steps to fully realize the cooperative potential in the economy, education, sports, high technologies, tourism, and other fields. The positive role of the two countries' close cooperation on various international platforms was emphasized.
The parties highly appreciated the importance of opening the RA embassy in Uruguay.
The conversation touched upon regional realities and developments. In this context, Ana Olivera emphasized that Uruguay supports Armenia's position to achieve stable and lasting peace in the region and establish neighborly relations with its neighbors.
At the meeting, ideas were exchanged regarding the initiatives of the Armenian government in the direction of solving the socio-economic problems of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh.
